ANTHRAX Guitarist Attends VAN HALEN Rehearsal: 'The Kings Are Back!!!!'

September 13, 2007

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has issued the following update:

"I went to see VAN HALEN rehearse last night. They were fucking amazing (ear-boners). Seriously, the hair on my arms was standing up. Dave [Lee Roth] sang great, Eddie [Van Halen] was shredding, Alex [Van Halen] is a fucking monster and Wolf [Van Halen] was perfect. Great on bass and hit every high note. The set list was 2 1/2 hours of the best shit. 'I'm The One', 'Atomic Punk', 'Romeo Delight', 'Somebody Get Me A Doctor', 'Mean Street', 'Unchained' and so many more. Do whatever you gotta do to get tix to see this. FINALLY!!!!! A real full-blown arena rock act!!!!! It's like listening to the soundtrack of America since 1978. THE KINGS ARE BACK!!!!!!!"

As previously reported, Scott Ian will perform with PEARL, the band led by Pearl AdayIan's fiancée and daughter of legendary crooner Meat Loaf — on September 17 at the Key Club in West Hollywood, California. The group will hit the stage at 11:00 p.m. (playing before METAL SKOOL).

Ian, Ted Nugent, and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell are among the guest musicians who appear on the new recordings by PEARL. Check out the tunes — which were produced by Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, WEEZER, BAD RELIGION) — on Pearl's MySpace page.

An accomplished singer, Pearl had previously provided background vocals on several of her father's tours as well as for MÖTLEY CRÜE as one of the "Crüe Sluts". She can also be heard singing a duet with Meat Loaf on Meat's "Couldn't Have Said It Better" CD, in the track "Man of Steel" (co-written by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx). Most recently, Pearl performed backing vocals for SIXX: A.M., the new band led by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, on July 16, 2007 at the Crash Mansion in downtown Los Angeles. The five-song performance (video) took place in front of the press and contest winners from radio and MySpace. The thundering sound was accompanied by synchronous visual projections of animation and artwork from Nikki's book, "The Heroin Diaries".
